2026 International Conference on Geotechnical Engineering and Underground Space

Driven by the national deep earth strategy and the development of new urbanization, geotechnical engineering and underground space development are facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges. As underground engineering continues to extend to greater depths and more complex geological conditions, major infrastructure projects such as urban rail transit, utility tunnels, cross-river and cross-sea tunnels, and deep energy storage impose higher demands on theoretical innovation and technological breakthroughs in geotechnical engineering. How to transform underground space development from an "experience-driven" to a "data-driven" approach, and how to construct a safe, green, low-carbon and intelligent modern geotechnical engineering system, has become a core focus of both the academic and engineering communities.

To comprehensively showcase the latest research achievements, engineering practices, and technological breakthroughs in the global geotechnical engineering field, the 2026 International Conference on Geotechnical Engineering and Underground Space (GEUS 2026) is scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China, from December 4th to 6th, 2026. Centered around five core directions—Foundation Engineering, Slope Engineering and Stability, Underground Structures and Space Engineering, Rock Mechanics and Engineering Geology, and Intelligent and Digital Geotechnical Engineering—the conference will bring together global experts, researchers, and industry elites to systematically present the cutting-edge advancements in the field.

The conference will feature various communication formats, including keynote speeches, oral presentations, and poster sessions. All accepted papers will be officially published in the conference proceedings and submitted for indexing in major databases such as EI Compendex, Inspec, and Scopus. GEUS 2026 sincerely invites scholars, engineers, and colleagues from around the world to gather in Shanghai to share the latest insights in geotechnical engineering and underground space and jointly promote the sustainable development of underground spaces globally.
